What size should my source image be?
Square and as large as possible — 1024×1024 or bigger. Every smaller size is generated from it, so a high-resolution source keeps the icons crisp.
Does it create a favicon.ico file?
It generates PNG favicons (512, 192, 180, 48, 32 and 16px), which is what modern browsers and web app manifests use. Reference them in your HTML and manifest.
Can I use a non-square image?
Yes — choose 'Cover' to crop it to a centred square, or 'Contain' to fit the whole image with padding.
